its not a cardiology 3, but it's still a good scope. i bought this to use as a back up to my littman and i find myself reaching for this more often. I'm a Navy Corpsman, an EMT, and an LPN. No matter what this scope has been reliable. I use it for mainly vitalizing and standard auscultation (pleural, bowel, apical pulse, etc). The MDF 747xp allows me to hear everything i need to just fine. I live and work in NYC, and NO ONE has tried to steal it, which is something i cant say for my 2 Littmans or my Allheart (great scopes BTW). I rock the all black model b/c its tactical and looks badass! I can listen to my pt's in large crowds or a noisy ambulance just fine. its light, it never bothers the back of my neck, and i have yet to bend it out of shape. The ear pieces are comfy and that counts a lot for me since i tend to get headaches while on duty. I jam this thing everywhere; cargo pockets, trauma bags, book bags, my glove compartment, u name it...takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. AND...i start rn school this sept. and im confident that this scope will not fail me. i guess its a loyal scope...anyway, this is a great scope for EMS, military medical personnel, and LPN/RN's. Its effective, cost effective, and low profile; everything a medical professional included in my scope of practice needs. so what its not a littman; this scope will keep u up to speed with the other "professionals". some advise though... if u can pony up a little extra, get a peds scope too. they're cheap...its dumb not to, makes u look like one hell of a professional when u have one on stand by.
